I was doing 16 mile ruck marches and running 5 miles in 35 minutes prior to my injury at Pre-Ranger school. This Wednesday was my first attempt at a ruck march since the injury, and I lasted a whopping 3 miles with a skimpy 40 pound ruck sack. Every muscle in my legs stiffened up immediately after I finished and had me walking around awkwardly the rest of the day. At least this morning I was able to run a mile on the treadmill in under 10 minutes for the first time since the injury. It sure is sad to now be on the completely opposite end of the fitness spectrum than where I was prior to July 11th.

It will come back. You have age on your side. Rock on!
Cheer up. I broke my foot jumping in August, took three months for it to heal and another month before I could run much less ruck. Now I'm almost as fast as I was before I got hurt and not embarrassing myself on rucks. Takes time, have patience, push thru.
